Toby Beadle. Managing Director, Urban Harvest UK Ltd. Toby Beadle is Managing Director of Urban Harvest UK Ltd. a company he established in 2000. Trained by the Forestry Commission he managed nation-wide forest harvesting operations for sawmilling and private sector forestry companies. As General Manager of Forest Thinnings Ltd he built a log and woodchip export trade from UK and Ireland to Scandinavia. Toby became involved in numerous investment feasibility studies which required assessment of the availability of wood raw materials. One feasibility study attracted inward investment to Scotland of the £215m Caledonian Paper Mill. He became Forestry Director for the company and was responsible for sourcing 250,000 tonnes of logs per annum. He was also responsible for marketing 20,000 tonnes of bark per annum for composting. He was also a Director of Shotton Paper Co., one of UK’s largest users of recycled paper. He then became Director of Environmental Affairs for UPM-Kymmene UK Ltd., based in London. Toby has wide experience in the consumer and commodity markets for wood and organic fibrous materials. As well as developing products and markets, he has had hands-on experience of training and operating sales teams targeting the retail gardening sector, and in developing supply chains in the biomass market.
